And right before I get to see him live on Taste Of Chaos....

answer : I guess its for the best, they said that its one of the things preventing the band spliting up and that would be worse.

Curtis was born deaf in one ear and almost blind in one eye. Because he doesn't wear earplugs, he began going deaf in the other ear. He smokes pot every night to get sleep because there's a high-pitched ringing sound that keeps him awake otherwise [so high-pitched it would drive a dog insane].
His part of the interview saddest thing to read.

In one of the alternative press interviews, it is quoted“I want some proper molded earplugs, but I cannot afford them,” he admits, pausing to reflect. “That just sums up our band. I am going to go deaf, which means I wont be able to do this band anymore, but being in this band means I can’t afford to stop myself from going deaf.”
So since he doesnt wear earplugs, he probably has really bad hearing & wont be able to like.. uh.. make music i guess.
I dont know. Thats just what I think because of what is quoted.

3. answers above are all right it also says on bmth myspace that he touring became to much for him and he was beginning to miss home
well actually i dnt know the truth, my friend said he left the band because he had some ilness problem, he said he have some cancer woaaaw is it true? other people said. "Over the last year especially, our touring schedule has been crazy," explained the band. "We are hardly ever at home, and for Curtis, this proved very hard. We could see that Curtis wasn't enjoying this band like the other 4 of us were anymore. It was nothing personal; it was a decision that wasn't made lightly, but one that we believe is best for the band's future and for Curtis's life. We wish curtis all the best in whatever he chooses to do in the future."
Ward will be replaced by guitar tech and the Mirimar Disaster member Dean Rowbotham for the time being.
